Dr. Suess's Accomplishments:
- Wrote almost 60 children's books
- Got hired to do flit advertisements
- Became an artist and writer
- Made his first book, "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" published by Vanguard Press, owned by one of his Dartmouth friends.
- Dr. Seuss named the book's main character, Marco, after his friend Marshall Maclintock's son.
- Published his last book at Vanguard called "The 500 of Bartholomew Cubbins" dedicated to Dr. Seuss's love of hats.
- Switched to a bigger and better publishing company called Random House.
- Made "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" appear on T.V. in 1966!
- Received two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and a Pulitzer Prize.
- Was granted a memorial sculpture garden and museum of himself in Springfield, Massachusetts where he was born.
